One could argue the introduction of the E46 3-series took the model to new heights.

The 3-series brand for BMW had already carved an automotive niche for the driver who craved build quality, enjoyed driving and loved German styling, whilst giving the driver a midsized car that that gave the crisp handling they desired and the power and feel of larger saloon cars. The E46 could arguably be classed as the ultimate 3 series of all time. Modern enough for our 21st century roads, giving the time-poor motoring enthusiast utter turnkey usability, blended with the right balance of analogue old-school driving, not to mention the style!
The M54 engine, loved by all for its incredible reliability, simplicity, silky smoothness and oodles of torque thanks to BMWs Vanos system, in its final evolution of 2979cc was legend.
This engine had been tried and tested to destruction in 100,000s of 3,5, and 7-Series, making the final 3.0 litre variant the ultimate incarnation. 231 BHP and 300 Nm delivered from this 24-Valve, twin-cam motor.
The E46 convertible is loved by the motoring press and was the go to choice for the customer who desired roof down motoring and the wind in their hair. That 3.0 litre, M54 motor installed in the superbly engineered convertible gave the most desirable package.

Cared for by the last owner with a no expense spared policy, the car has wanted for nothing and also benefited from the Classic Heroes underside clean, detail and protection program. This very low mileage example is backed up with a 100% full-service history from new.
Our Thoughts
The 3-series has always been a victim of its own success. Utter usability and reliability meant they all covered 100,000 miles in the fist ten years and saw endless winters of corrosive salt that is shovelled on to our UK roads.
