Group B rally was instrumental in shaping the future of Audi. In 1980 the Audi Quattro came sliding onto the world rally stage, the first to compete with a four-wheeled-drive powertrain. It proved to be a huge success leaving competitors racing to catch up and develop their own 4WD system, with the likes of Subaru, Peugeot and of course Lancia hot on their dust cloud!

Audi has continued to build on their motorsport legacy in the BTCC, delivering some seriously powerful super-saloons, hatchbacks and sports coupes as a result. The general public has benefited from Audi’s motorsport innovation, but with rising labour costs and declining attention to detail, we are seeing many owners turning away from the main dealerships for servicing.
