What do we mean by preventive maintenance?

Simply put, most classic car restoration work could have been prevented. How? By taking the right maintenance measures at the right time, before they become problems. We take a proactive approach and based on our extensive experience, we know what to address and when.

We are firm believers in the mantra that the cheapest form of repair is prevention. Keeping corrosion at bay, protecting bodywork with specialist cavity wax and future proofing of mechanical components. Whether it’s a leaking cooling system, split fuel pipes, seized brake calipers or perished bushes, all components suffer with time, not just mileage.

Time makes fools of us all, but we can ensure that your investment is protected from the often unfavourable British roads and winter climate.

The Process.

We aim to put the restoration business, out of business. It all starts with a thorough inspection on the ramp. Often, there can be corrosion hiding behind sill trims and wheel arch liners, in between metal components or on various hard to reach surfaces. A seemingly innocent oil leak can be a sign of something more sinister. We will thoroughly inspect your car to then refresh the parts others can't reach.

Upon completion of our inspection, you'll be provided with a detailed short, medium and long-term ownership report on the issues that need to be addressed now, those that can wait until the next service and the ones that only need to be observed for the moment. This gives you a completely transparent view and allows you to budget accordingly over time.

What about modern cars?

Future proofing isn't just for classic cars. In the financed world of temporary car ownership, built in obsolescence is a very real factor to consider. Simply put, they just don't make them like they used to.

Even that new executive performance saloon is on borrowed time, with manufacturers taking less and less precautions with each generation to protect bodywork and components. Taking the right steps now can ensure that your investment not only withstands the winter roads but is protected for years to come, ensuring you get the best price should you decide to move on to something else in the future.
