Restoration

We offer a complete, in-house, structural, cosmetic and mechanical restoration service at Hero Motor Company. Restoration is all about communication with our customers and we feel that your individual needs should be the focus.

Before we embark on any work, we’ll give the vehicle a full comprehensive inspection to make sure that it is the right car with the right integrity to begin work on.

After this inspection we sit down for a chat with you to understand what you want from your car and together we’ll develop a suitable plan of action.

A word about bodywork.

Restoration can take many forms. From simple age related corrosion repairs to wheel arches and sills, keeping as much original paintwork as possible and enjoying a car on the road in all its glorious patina, to full strip downs and bare metal resprays.

We believe bodywork condition is key, therein lies the integrity and future economic viability of the car and most often where we would start any restoration project. It's about having the right canvas in which to start painting a masterpiece. Whilst we sometimes form strong emotional attachments to our cars, they are unfortunately, not always viable to restore.

The nuts and bolts...

In instances where the body shell only requires surface level repairs, our attention can be better spent on the engine, whether lightly servicing or fully rebuilding with new seals, gaskets and hoses, that often perish as a matter of age. We call this, the age related 'big birthday' service.

Braking and suspension are key components to any performance classic, and once refreshed or upgraded can make a world of difference to the drivability of the car going forward.

In all instances, we always recommend that after this work, the car receive our full programme for future proofing to prevent unfavourable climates from undoing all this hard work. After all, prevention is better than cure.
